Pendulum impact testing machines: Calibration (NT MECH 036)

Abstract

  This Nordtest method deals with the calibration of Pendulum Impact Testing Machines (PITM’s). It describes the principles of: – The direct method to verify PITM’s where the physical and geometrical properties of the various parts of the PITM’s are verified statically covering either the whole range or only a part. The equipment applied in the direct method requires a certified traceability relative to the SI System. – The indirect method to verify PITM’s where a global specification method, using Charpy V reference test pieces as specified in the European Standard, is applied.
