Building components – chimney elements: Mechanical testing (NT BUILD 339)

Abstract

1. SCOPE

This NORDTEST method specifies a procedure to determine the dimensions, compression strength and dry density of lightweight concrete of chimney elements. The fire technical characteristics of chimney elements are assessed during type approval testing, while the regular quality control is based on checking that the selected elements have the same dimensions, compression strength and dry density as the elements used in the fire testing.

2. FIELD OF APPLICATION

The method is used in the regular quality control of approved lightweight concrete chimney elements.
