Abstract
This test method is used to find if a building gasket has a sufficiently low resistance to deformation when it is installed or during actual use. Building gaskets always have a certain size and shape in unmounted condition; they have a closely defined cross section. The sealing function is based on its ability to take certain elastic deformations. For this reason, the gasket must be capable of being compressed or deformed to the right degree by reasonably heavy loads.
