Building gaskets: Contact and migration stain (NT BUILD 112)

Abstract

  This test method is used to study the risks of staining involved in contact between a building gasket and painted or varnished surfaces, plastic coatings or similar. In openable windows, for instance, discolouration of the paint or varnish is usually considered undesirable. Physical and/or chemical reactions may also occur, resulting in exudations and sticky surfaces.
