Abstract
The aim of this NORDTEST method is to create a general method for testing and quality evaluation of radio-control (RC) systems used for remote control of cranes.
The method comprises the evaluation of electric operation of the radio-control system, measurements of the characteristics and instructions for tests assuring the safe operation of the system in the conditions of the operating environment.
The authorities in different countries (e.g., post and telecommunications administration) state technical requirements for radio apparatuses. According to these requirements, the apparatus shall also be inspected in order to qualify for an operational permit (type approval).
The approval may also require consideration of the national codes for the remote control of cranes and the general safety requirements of cranes.
