Gas alarms: Performance (NT ELEC 003)

Abstract

  The aim of this NORDTEST method is to form a common basis for evaluation and approval of gas alarms. In this method gas alarm means an electronic system which gives off an audible alarm when exposed to gases of certain kinds and concentrations. The test methods concern the primary performance characteristics of gas alarms and the stability of the performance characteristics against influences from the environment. In addition to the tests in this NORDTEST method, further tests will be required by the National authorities, e.g., regarding hazards in connection with electrical shocks for mains operated gas alarms.
