Distribution, degradation and toxicity of pesticides at environmentally realistic temperatures (NT TR 496)

NT TR 496

  • The OECD guideline for measuring adsorption-desorption was applied. The guideline was found to be adequate for determining the equilibrium distribution in adsorption studies, but not the sorption/desorption kinetics for very rapidly sorbing substances. The recently developed guidelines for studying biodegradation under environmentally realistic conditions were applied.

A simplified method to determine impact sound improvement on light-weight floors (NT TR 488)

NT TR 488

  • It is well known that the impact sound improvement for floor coverings on lightweight floors is very different from that on heavy concrete slabs. Most laboratories have only one test opening and it is expensive to change floors. Thus it would be preferable if it were possible to use a simpler test procedure. In this paper such a procedure is outlined and discussed.

Performance testing of active noise control (ANC) systems - Guideline (NT TR 487)

NT TR 487

  • This guideline describes a preliminary test method for performance testing of certain active Noise Control (ANC) systems. It sets out requirements for the measurement set-up and representation of the results. The work carried out so far is a first step towards a test method, and this preliminary method can be used as a guideline for testing ANC systems.

Tillverkning och användning av laboratoriereferensmaterial vid testing av fast avfall (NT TR 486)

NT TR 486

  • Costly certified and commercial reference materials can often not be applied for waste testing because of high test portion quantities needed and poor availability of suitable commercial soil and waste materials. The utilisation of a laboratory reference material can be regarded as a practical tool in the quality control of leaching test performance.

Methodology of inter-comparison tests and statistical analysis of test results (NT TR 482)

NT TR 482

  • This report describes how to organise inter-comparison tests and how to statistically analyse the test results.

Buktningsprovning av marmor för fasadbeklädnad (NT TR 481)

NT TR 481

  • Facade cladding of marble has, in several cases, suffered from problems with bowing panels that also loose strength. When not exchanged or repaired there is an obvious risk of panels falling down with time. The project objectives are to develop a laboratory test method for the detection of marble with a potential risk of bowing and to develop a field site investigation method.

Development of a test procedure for sandwich panels using ISO 9705 philosophy (NT TR 480)

NT TR 480

  • Assessment of the fire behaviour of sandwich panels often requires large scale testing. The fire behaviour of these panels is a combination of material characteristics such as the core material and mechanical behaviour of the panels such as joints, dilations etc.

Extended firing sheds and shooting blinds (NT TR 478)

NT TR 478

  • In the period 1996 to 1998 DELTA and the Danish Shooting Association investigated the influence of extended firing sheds and shooting blinds on the noise level in the surroundings. The reason for this was that all Danish shooting ranges had to comply with the noise limits in Guideline 1/1995 from the Danish Environmental Protection Agency, which increased the need for reducing the noise.

Extended firing sheds and shooting blinds (NT TR 478 - Revised)

Uncertainties in measuring heat and smoke release rates in the room or corner test and the SBI test (NT TR 477)

NT TR 477

  • When performing fire testing and classifying materials, Heat Release Rate (HRR) and Smoke Production Rate (SPR) are two of the most important quantities to determine. In this work, the individual sources of errors are defined for the HRR and the SPR calculations, with regard to the Room/Corner Test and the Single Burning Item (the SBI) test.

Hydrogen monitoring in geothermal plants and oil and gas refineries (NT TR 474)

NT TR 474

  • The effluent hydrogen flux from a pressure vessel or pipe in hydrogenating service is a measure of the diffusible hydrogen concentration in the steel, and hence also of the possible hydrogenation reactions on the inside and the propensity to hydrogen induced disintegration of the steel wall.

Use of lysimeters for characterisation of leaching from soil and mainly inorganic waste materials (NT TR 473)

NT TR 473

  • The understanding and interpretation of leaching processes have improved significantly during the past two decades and several Nordic countries have implemented the use of leaching tests in recent or pending legislation on utilisation and landfilling of waste and contaminated soil. This progress is based mainly on experience from laboratory experiments in combination with modelling work but also on the use of field lysimeters.
